Eric Smith

Eric grew up in Central Michigan. In high school, Eric achieved All-State honors in both football and basketball. Upon graduating in 1984 he attended Bowling Green State University on a football scholarship as a Division-1 Quarterback. During his 5 years of Football at Bowling Green he played on an ‘11-0’ team that went on to play in the California Bowl. He also experienced losing seasons. He took away valuable life lessons from both experiences. Individually, Eric was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection. Eric attributes his success, both on and off the field, to being highly coachable, having a focused work ethic and being able to endure and overcome adversity.
After graduating in 1988 with a degree in Business Administration, Eric began his business career which took him from a career in Financial Services to Pharmaceutical Sales to his current career in Organizational Consulting and Leadership Development. Eric is also a certified partner and leadership trainer with The John Maxwell TEAM, the world’s leading leadership organization.

Eric coached High School Football from 2012 through 2014. His love for developing athletes led him to starting the Winning Edge Quarterback Training Academy which he currently operates in Raleigh, NC.

Eric is also a certified trainer with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA).

Eric has a passion to helping others reach their fullest potential not only in athletics but also in LIFE. He joined Dynamite Sports to help aspiring student athletes achieve their dream of playing sports in college so that they can have the same experience and opportunities that he has had.

Eric and his wife Lisa live in Raleigh, NC and have 4 grown children.
