I am planning my first trip to Tirana and am a little worried about transportation. Public transportation seems confusing, taxis are not always reliable, and guided tours limit your freedom. I would like to be able to drive around the city and beyond on my own, visit less touristy places, beaches, or mountains. But I’m not sure if I should get a car with an automatic transmission, and whether it will be too difficult or expensive for a tourist. Do you think this is a reasonable decision for traveling?
